Azam Kabani named U14 League MVP
The Metro Select League for the 2011-12 season, selected Azam Kabani of the Burnaby Selects as the U14 League MVP amongst players from 10 U14 teams. This award gives Azam the distinction of being the first Burnaby player to win this award! It's an honour Azam and his entire team can be proud of.

Congratulations U14 Boys
From April 6-8, the U14 boys played in the HPL division of the Whitecaps Easter Cup. The competition was fierce, but the boys battled hard to a record of two ties and one loss in round robin play. They then beat a team from Winnipeg in the playoff round to capture 3rd place overall. Given the calibre of play, it was an impressive result and showed the boys they can compete at the highest level.
Two days later, the Selects faced the super talented the Whitecaps U14 Residency team up at SFU. Once again, the boys proved they were up to the challenge as they walked away with a hard-earned 1-0 victory.

The Burnaby Selects U13 Team are the 2011-2012 league champions. In the league championship game, the Burnaby Select U13 boys won the game with an impressive effort, and a score of 5-2. Under the outstanding leadership of head coach Frank Iuele and assistant Mario Montagliani, the boys improved consistently throughout the year and finished the season with an impressive 13-1-5 record. Most notably, they had a league record of 68 GF and only 28 GA. Next up, Coastal Cup - which begins on April 14th..
