In the following example we will setup a 4 team double elimination tournament.

When we are done the schedule will look like the following:

Step 1: Setup a division called Pond Soccer

Launch ITLeagueManager and Select the Division Menu and Division Setup.

Create your tournament division the same way you would your regular season divisions, but uncheck the division box.

Step 2: Register Teams to the Tournament Divisions

You create and setup the teams the same way you would for normal league play.

Click [LINK HERE] for more information for setting up teams and registering them to a division.

Step 3: Schedule Games

Step Three is the one part where scheduling Round Robin tournaments is very different from scheduling Elimination tournaments.

First, write out or use a spreadsheet for setting out what your schedule is going to be. For example we are going to use the following structure:

 Game  Date  Location  Home  Away
 1  Nov 28  a  Team A Team D
 2  Nov 28  b  Team B Team C
 3  Nov 29  a  Loser of Game 1  Loser of Game 2
 4  Nov 29  b  Winner of Game 1  Winner of Game 2
 5  Nov 30  a  Winner of Game 3  Loser of Game 4
 6  Nov 30  b  Winner of Game 4  Winner of Game 5

We then use the Schedule Games Module in ITLeagueManager.

You may want to rearrange the columns in ITLeagueManager so that you can see the following columns:

  • Date
  • Time
  • Home Team
  • Visitor Team
  • Game Number - used to refer to Winner of Game 1 plays Winner of Game 2
  • Game Section - Helps seperate your schedule into Preliminary, Quarter, Semi and Final Sections
  • Home Team (Game No.) Refer to the winner or losser of a particular game
  • Visitor Team (Game No.) Refers to the winner or losser of a particular game

NOTE: No teams are put in for games 3-6 and that -1 is used for the loser of game one and -2 is used for the loser of game 2.

Once you save the above schedule you will get the schedule on your website exactly like the one at the beginning of this document.
