Fiorentina Soccer Camp 2010

The Vancouver Soccer Fiorentina Camp program was held in Burnaby summer 2010.  Players learned from the professional Italian coaches of ACF FIORENTINA. All participants hadf the opportuity to be observed and evaluated by scouts of ACF FIORENTINA, who are experts in the selection of young talents worldwide. In attendance was Professor Alberto Bollini – Director/Coach of all ACF Fiorentina Youth Camps throughout Italy.  For more information visit their website at http://www.vancouverfiorentinacamp.com/

BC Summer Games

The BC Summer games has been one of the favorite opportunities for young soccer players to play at the highest level possible in an atmosphere of competitiveness, excitement and fun. Friendships made at this opportunity are life lasting. Previous years have had Zone 4 win gold in 2002 & 2004, silver in 2006 and bronze in 2008. John Penman, coach of the BMSSC U18B has been selected as the coach for the games. His assistant coach is Mark Berry, assistant coach of BMSSC U14A..

U16A Team Wins Division

The U16A Burnaby Selects, coached by John Penman, assistant Alex Lakovic & Managed by Terry Lashar won the U16A 2009-2010 a  league title. 
While the league was extremely competitive from week to week during the season – not all games were wins for the 1994s - coach Penman said ” I am very proud of their accomplishments this season.  I have coached most of these boys since U6 soccer, and they have become a very good group”  The team went as far as the semi-finals in Provincial Cup play, but unfortunately lost in a shoot out after a regulation 1-1 tie and overtime.  Paris Gee has been selected to the provincial team, while a record number 7 players were selected for the Mountain Super Y team – Jordan Lashar, Gilbert Kyne, Jayson Santiago, Gi Ha, Geordie Penman, Karny Niijar and Pavindeep Singh.

U18 A Team Wins Adidas Mayor's Cup Tournament

Congratulations to the U18A Team who won the Adidas U-19 Div in the Mayors Cup Tournament in Las Vegas the weekend of Feb 13, 2010 with 5 WINS 0 losses, 12 goals scored and 0 allowed.

U16 Div 2 BMSSC Burnaby Royals Dominate their Division

The U16 Div 2 Burnaby Royals are dominating their division and with only two league games to go, they can not be caught.  As of February 14th, their record is 17-1-2 with 66GF/16GA and 53 points - 16 points ahead of their closest rival. Here are some current photos of the team in action.

18 BMSSC Players and two Coaches in Florida November 2009 for the Super Y Finals

BMSSC Players acquitted themselves very well at the Super Y Finals in Florida in November.  The Mountain U13 Super Y team were semi finalists and the Mountain U15 team finished in second place.

At the U16 boys level, Richard Meister, Goalkeeper from the BMSSC U18A was nominated to the Super Y All Start Team.  Read more at  http://supery.uslsoccer.com/home/388210.html

At the U15 boys level three players from Mountain WFC were nominated for the U15 All Star team:

  • Jordan Campbell GK - (from U18B Royals)
